Coldplay Isn’t For Everyone
Coldplay’s recent single “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” is a significant crossroad in their musical journey. Why you may ask? The sound of this tune is a melodic harmony that is uplifting but pleasantly irritating at the same time. U2 had the same journey in the mid-90s with the release of their 1993 Zooropa album which generated the hit “Lemon”. Coldplay is coming off a huge album and the mega-hit “Viva La Vida”. From what I can see from the comments on iTunes and YouTube, the majority of fans love the new single, however I see more negative comments than from the past. Has Coldplay reached a plateau where they aren’t losing any fans, but they aren’t gaining any either?
