Two songs from Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s 1986 Live/1976-85 album made appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. On this date in 1987, the second of that pair of songs, their version of “Fire,” the Springsteen-written song that had been a Top 10 hit for The Pointer Sisters in 1979, rose to a peak position of number 46.
