Daily Eighties Flashback (DEF): Lita Ford “Kiss Me Deadly”
Today, we’re starting a new feature on Tunesmate in which we provide a daily dose of 1980s music nostalgia. In the spirit of 1980s slang, we’re calling it “DEF,” which stands for your “daily eighties flashback.”
To kick off this new feature, we’re also harkening back to yesterday, when we noted that it has been 25 years since Ozzy Osbourne’s only Top 10 single, “Close My Eyes Forever,” peaked at number 8 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. For Ozzy’s partner on the single, Lita Ford, “Close My Eyes Forever” was also her only Top 10 hit. It wasn’t, though, her only Top 20 hit. Exactly one year earlier, and 26 years ago today, Ford reached a peak position of number 12 with her first and only other Top 40 hit, “Kiss Me Deadly.”
“Kiss Me Deadly” is your very first DEF.
