Six songs from John Cougar Mellencamp‘s 1985 Scarecrow album hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. All of those songs plus two more also made appearances on the Top Rack Tracks chart. On this date in 1986, one of those two additional songs, “Minutes to Memories,” rose to a peak position of number 14.
