Daily Eighties Flashback: Whitney Houston “Thinking About You”

Whitney Houston scored four Top 5 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart from her self-titled debut album, and in the process began a record-breaking streak of seven consecutive Hot 100 singles reaching number one. A fifth single from that debut album, “Thinking About You,” wasn’t promoted to Top 40 radio and thus didn’t reach the Hot 100 chart, but it did hit the Top 10 on the R&B singles chart. On that chart on this date in 1985, “Thinking About You” rose to a peak position of number 10.
