DEF: Angela Winbush “It’s the Real Thing”

Angela Winbush only made one appearance on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, as a featured artist alongside The Isley Brothers on “Floatin’ On Your Love,” which reached number 47 in 1996. She did, though, hit the Top 10 five times on the R&B chart, most notably with her number one hit “Angel” in 1987. Exactly 30 years ago, Winbush’s second-biggest hit on the R&B chart, “It’s the Real Thing,” climbed to a peak position of number 2.
