New York City-based duo Ashford & Simpson made six appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Among those six songs, the couple’s biggest hit was their only Top 20 hit, “Solid,” which on yesterday’s date in 1985 climbed to a peak position of number 12. “Solid” by Ashford & Simpson is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
