DEF: Bangles “Walk Like an Egyptian”
Los Angeles-based group the Bangles made eight appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, going a perfect eight for eight in hitting the Top 40 with all of them. Six of the eight songs cracked the Top 20, and five made the Top 10. Amid all of that success, the Bangles’ biggest hit was “Walk Like an Egyptian,” the first of their two songs to reach number one. Exactly 30 years ago, “Walk Like an Egyptian” rose to the top of the chart for a four-week reign. To commemorate that anniversary, the Bangles’ biggest hit is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
