Comedian Garry Shandling passed away on Thursday at the age of 66. In the 1980s, Shandling gained national prominence with his television show It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, which appeared on Showtime. In line with the tone of the show, the series’ theme song, sung by Los Angeles-based singer Bill Lynch, self-reflexively made fun of its own existence as a television program.
