DEF: Blondie “The Tide Is High”

In a two-year span between the spring of 1979 and the spring of 1981, New York City-based band Blondie reached number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart four times. Exactly 35 years ago, the third of those number one hits — “The Tide Is High” — climbed to the top of the chart for a one-week reign.
