DEF: Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band “Tryin’ To Live My Life Without You”

Detroit-born singer Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band reached the Top 20 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with their first three singles of the 1980s. Then, after missing the Top 40 with “The Horizontal Bop” in late 1980, the band returned to the Top 20 almost a year later when their live cover of the song “Tryin’ To Live My Life Without You,” which was written by Eugene Williams and originally recorded by Otis Clay, climbed to number 5. On this date in 1981, “Tryin’ To Live My Life Without You” by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band rose to its peak position, where it would spend two weeks. Today, the song is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
