Pointer Sisters member Bonnie Pointer made three appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart as a solo artist. On yesterday’s date in 1980, the last of that trio of hits, a remake of The Four Tops’ “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” rose to a peak position of number 40.
