In 1985, veteran singer and actor Carl Anderson made an appearance on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives in which he sang the song “Friends & Lovers” with regular cast member Gloria Loring. The song was released as a single the next year, and exactly 30 years ago, it rose to a peak position of number 2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
