DEF: Christopher Cross “Ride Like The Wind”

At the Grammy Awards ceremony in February 1981, San Antonio, Texas-born musician Christopher Cross became the only artist in history to win Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist in the same year. All of this stemmed from his self-titled debut album, which spawned four Top 20 hits. The first of those hits came with “Ride Like The Wind,” Cross’s first single to appear on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.

Exactly 35 years ago, “Ride Like The Wind” reached a peak position of number 2, where it would spend four weeks. Today, to commemorate that anniversary, “Ride Like The Wind” is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
