DEF: David Bowie “Fashion”
After building a successful career in the 1970s that included two Top 10 hits, including his first number one single, “Fame,” London-born musician David Bowie reached even greater success as a pop music artist in the 1980s. Bowie scored four Top 10 hits in the 1980s, including his second number one single, “Let’s Dance,” which topped Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for one week in 1983.
Bowie’s first single to chart in the 1980s, though, didn’t fare quite as well. On this date in 1981, “Fashion” reached a peak position of number 70, where it would spend one week.
