Long Island, New York-based group De La Soul has appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart four times in their career, twice reaching the Top 40. The group’s first Top 40 hit was their first Hot 100 single, and on this date in 1989, that song — “Me Myself And I” — climbed to a peak position of number 34, where it would spend one week.
