DEF: Def Leppard “Rocket”
Sheffield, England-based band Def Leppard‘s 1987 album Hysteria is one of the greatest-selling hard rock/heavy metal albums in history, having sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. As part of the album’s success, six of the album’s singles reached the Top 20 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
On this date in 1989, the last of those Top 20 singles, “Rocket,” reached a peak position of number 12, where it would spend one week. Today, “Rocket” is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
