DEF: Deon Estus “Heaven Help Me”
Detroit-born musician Deon Estus, who played bass for Wham! and George Michael in the mid- to late 1980s, released his own album, Spell, in 1989. One song from the album — “Heaven Help Me,” which featured Michael on backing vocals — made an appearance on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, rising all the way to the Top 10. Exactly 30 years ago, “Heaven Help Me” climbed to its peak position of number 5. To commemorate that anniversary, “Heaven Help Me” by Deon Estus is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
