Essex, England-based band Depeche Mode have hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart six times in their career, including three singles in 1990 from their Violator album, which marked their highest point of pop music success. Their first Top 40 single, though, came in 1985, when their first charting single, “People Are People,” reached number 13.
