DEF: Europe “Carrie”

Swedish band Europe may be most remembered for their hit “The Final Countdown,” which was the first single from their album of the same name and the band’s first single to hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. However, “The Final Countdown” is actually the band’s second-biggest hit in terms of chart performance. While “The Final Countdown” peaked at number 8 in early 1987, Europe’s third single from the same album, “Carrie,” peaked at number 3 later that same year. On this date in 1987, “Carrie” hits its peak position, where it would spend two weeks.
