After Havana, Cuba-born singer Gloria Estefan hit the Top 40 with the Miami Sound Machine on all nine singles that the band placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, she released a solo album titled Cuts Both Ways in 1989. Exactly 25 years ago, the first single from that album, “Don’t Wanna Lose You,” jumped into the number slot, where it would spend one week.
