DEF: Harold Faltermeyer “Axel F”

Munich-born musician Harold Faltermeyer gained fame in the 1980s as a film score composer, with works for films such as Fletch, Top Gun, The Running Man, and the Beverly Hills Cop films. Amid those works, Faltermeyer reached Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart once, with “Axel F” from the original Beverly Hills Cop. Exactly 30 years ago, “Axel F” climbed to a peak position of number 3, where it would spend three weeks. In commemoration of that anniversary, Harold Faltermeyer’s “Axel F” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
