DEF: Janet Jackson “Miss You Much”
In 1986 and 1987, Janet Jackson hit the Top 10 five times and scored an additional Top 20 hit from her Control album. In the fall of 1989, Janet followed up that success with the release of her Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 album, which would vault her into even more successful territory. The album produced seven Top 5 hits, four of which hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. The album’s very first hit, “Miss You Much,” was also its biggest. Exactly 25 years ago, “Miss You Much” rose to number one, where it would spend four weeks, giving it the longest stay at the top of any single in 1989.
Today, Janet Jackson’s “Miss You Much” is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
