DEF: Joe Cocker “When The Night Comes”
Joe Cocker, who passed away last week at the age of 70, hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart nine times during his career. His first Top 40 hit came in 1970, when he peaked at number 30 with a remake of the Beatles’ “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window.” Nearly two decades, later, exactly 25 years ago, as the 1980s were ending, Cocker’s final Top 40 single was in the Top 20, working its way up to a peak position of number 11 that it would hit in mid-January 1990.
In memory of Cocker, that final Top 40 hit — “When The Night Comes” — is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
