DEF: John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band “On The Dark Side”

Rhode Island-based act John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band have scored four Top 40 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in their career. All four came as four consecutive singles between late 1984 and late 1985. Exactly 30 years ago, the first and most successful of those singles, “On The Dark Side,” reached its peak position of number 7, where it would spend two weeks.

“On The Dark Side” was one of two Top 40 hits by the band from the film Eddie and the Cruisers, along with “Tender Years,” which peaked at number 31.
