John Cougar Mellencamp has hit made thirty appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with twenty-two of those songs making the Top 40 and ten reaching the Top 10. Amid all of that success, Mellencamp’s biggest hit is his only number one hit, “Jack & Diane,” which exactly 35 years ago climbed to the top of the chart for a four-week reign.
