DEF: John Loeffler “Along Comes a Friend”

Exactly 35 years ago, the sitcom Kate & Allie, which starred Jane Curtin and Susan Saint James, debuted on CBS to begin a six-season run. The show’s theme song, performed by John Loeffler and composed by Loeffler and Ralph Schuckett, was titled “Along Comes a Friend,” and it appeared in instrumental form for the opening credits and then with lyrics for the closing credits.
