DEF: Keith Forsey “Love Theme from The Breakfast Club”

Exactly 30 years ago today, the film The Breakfast Club debuted in theaters in the United States, on its way to becoming one of the quintessential films of the decade. The film also spawned one of the 1980s most quintessential hit songs, with Simple Minds’ “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” though the soundtrack also featured other memorable tunes, including the film’s love theme, which was written and recorded by London-born musician Keith Forsey. Forsey did additional work for the The Breakfast Club soundtrack, and he was also featured on soundtracks for other classic 1980s films such as Flashdance, Ghostbusters, and Beverly Hills Cop.

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the films’s release, the love theme from The Breakfast Club is today’s Daily Eighties flashback.
