Kenny Loggins scored the biggest hit of his career when his title track to the film Footloose spent three weeks at number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1984. While Loggins’ other single from the film didn’t do quite that well, it still gave Loggins another Top 40 hit. On this date in 1984, “I’m Free (Heaven Helps The Man)” climbed to a peak position of number 22, where it would spend two weeks.
