Minneapolis-based group Lipps, Inc. hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart just once, though they were as successful as possible with that one Top 40 hit. Exactly 35 years ago, Lipps, Inc.’s song “Funkytown” climbed to number one, where it would spend four weeks.
