DEF: Lonnie Mack “Strike Like Lightning”

Indiana-born musician Lonnie Mack, who is one of the most influential blues guitarists in history, passed away last week at the age of 74. Mack is most known popularly for his two Top 40 hits — “Memphis” and “Wham!” — which were among his four appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, all of which occurred in the mid-1960s. Mack released three studio albums in the 1980s, the first of which was Strike Like Lightning in 1985. In memory of Mack, today’s Daily Eighties Flahback is “Strike Like Lightning,” the title track from Mack’s 1985 album.
