Madonna has hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart 12 times in her career. Of those 12 number one hits, 4 have been ballads. Exactly 30 years ago today, Madonna’s first ballad to reach number one came with her very first ballad to appear on the Hot 100 chart, as “Crazy For You” climbed into the top spot for a one-week stay.
