DEF: Michael Murphey “What’s Forever For”

Dallas, Texas-born musician Michael Murphey hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in the early to mid-1970s with his first four charting singles. After a six-year break in which he did not appear on the chart, Murphey returned to the Top 40 one additional time in the early 1980s with “What’s Forever For.” On this date in 1982, “What’s Forever For” hit its peak position of number 19, where it would spend five weeks.
