DEF: Morris Day “The Oak Tree”

Minneapolis-based musician and The Time founder Morris Day hit the Top 40 as a solo artist on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1988 with his song “Fishnet,” though that wasn’t his first solo chart appearance. In 1985 Day hit the Hot 100 with his single “The Oak Tree,” and on this date that year “The Oak Tree” reached its peak position of number 65.

Morris Day’s first Hot 100 appearance is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
