DEF: Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald “On My Own”

The first single from Patti LaBelle‘s 1986 Winner in You album featured the Philadelphia-born singer in a duet with Doobie Brothers’ member Michael McDonald as they teamed up for the song “On My Own.” It would go on to become both artists’ biggest hit, spending three weeks at the top of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
