DEF: Paul Young “Everytime You Go Away”
British musician Paul Young has reached Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart nine times in his career, with five of those songs hitting the Top 40 and two climbing to the Top 10. Young scored the biggest hit of the bunch in 1985, when his version of Hall & Oates’ “Everytime You Go Away” hit number one. Exactly 30 years ago, “Everytime You Go Away” rose into the number one position for its one-week stay. To commemorate that anniversary, Paul Young’s biggest hit is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
