Among the eight times London-born musician Phil Collins hit number one in the 1980s (including one with the group Genesis), the half-way point to that total came with “Separate Lives,” a duet with Tennessee-born singer Marilyn Martin from the film White Nights that would be Martin’s only chart-topping single. To commemorate that anniversary, “Separate Lives” by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
