DEF: Ray Parker, Jr. “Ghostbusters”
Word is that Hollywood might reboot the Ghostbusters franchise. Exactly thirty years ago, the original film was in theaters, on its way to becoming the second-highest-grossing film of 1984. Exactly 30 years ago today, the theme song from the film, sung by Ray Parker, Jr., hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. “Ghostbusters” would spend three weeks at the top of the Hot 100 chart, and it’s Parker’s first and only number one hit.
“Ghostbusters” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
