DEF: Rush “New World Man”
Toronto-based band and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Rush have been making music for more than four decades, and in that time they have developed a very devoted following. Like many other rock acts, much of Rush’s success has come from album sales, with only limited success with singles on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. In fact, Rush has only one Top 40 hit.
On this date in 1982, Rush’s lone Top 40 hit, “New World Man,” hit its peak position of number 21, where it would spend three weeks. Today, “New World Man” is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
