DEF: Shalamar “Dancing in the Sheets”
Los Angeles-based group Shalamar hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart four times, most successfully in 1980 with their only Top 10 hit, “The Second Time Around.” The last of Shalamar’s four Top 40 hits came with their song “Dancing in the Sheets,” which was featured in the original Footloose film. On this date in 1984, “Dancing in the Sheets” rose to its peak position of number 17. Today, “Dancing in the Sheets” by Shalamar is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
