DEF: Smokey Robinson “Let Me Be The Clock”

Detroit-born singer Smokey Robinson reached the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart five times in the 1980s, with three of those singles hitting the Top 10. Robinson’s first Top 40 hit of the 1980s was also his first single to reach the Hot 100 in the decade. Exactly 35 years ago, that song — “Let Me Be The Clock” — climbed to a peak position of number 31, where it would spend two weeks.

Smokey Robinson’s “Let Me Be The Clock” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
