DEF: Teddy Pendergrass “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration”
In 1981 Philadelphia-based singer Teddy Pendergrass scored his only top 40 hit of the decade when he teamed up with Stephanie Mills for the single “Two Hearts.” Pendergrass’ very next single to chart on Billboard‘s Hot 100, “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration,” came close to duplicating that feat but just missed the Top 40. On this date in 1982, “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration” reached a peak position of number 43, where it would spend one week.
Teddy Pendergrass’ “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
