DEF: The Beach Boys “Kokomo”
The Beach Boys hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart three times between 1964 and 1966. The group would wait another 22 years before topping the chart again. Exactly 30 years ago, that fourth number one hit — “Kokomo,” from the 1988 film Cocktail — rose to the pinnacle position for a one-week reign. To commemorate that anniversary, “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
