The Pretenders have made ten appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with six of those songs reaching the Top 40 and two hitting the Top 10. Exactly 35 years ago, their biggest hit, “Back on the Chain Gang” from the 1982 film The King of Comedy, climbed to a peak position of number 5.
