DEF: The Reddings “(Sittin’ On) the Dock of the Bay”
Otis Redding’s sons Dexter and Otis III constituted two thirds of the group The Reddings, who made two appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in the early 1980s. The biggest of the two hits was a remake of Otis’ classic “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay.” On this date in 1982, The Reddings’ version climbed to a peak position of number 55. Today, “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” by The Reddings is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
