British group The Timelords made just one appearance on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, though they did appear three more times after they changed their name to The KLF. That one appearance as The Timelords came with a novelty record “Doctorin’ the Tardis,” which combined “Rock and Roll Part 2” by Gary Glitter with the theme song from the television show Doctor Who. While the song hit number one in the U.K. in 1988, in the U.S. it peaked at number 66 on this date in 1989. “Doctorin’ the Tardis” by The Timelords is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
