DEF: Toni Basil “Over My Head”

As a singer, Philadelphia-born Toni Basil is most remembered for her 1980s classic “Mickey,” which spent one week at number 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1982. Basil did, though, have two additional appearances on the Hot 100. In 1983, Basil peaked at number 77 with “Shoppin’ From A To Z,” and on this date in 1984, her single “Over My Head” reached a peak position of number 81, where it would spend one week.
