Released in January of the year from which it takes its name, Van Halen‘s 1984 album produced three Top 20 hits, including the band’s biggest hit — their lone chart-topper, “Jump.” On this date that year, the album’s third Top 20 hit, “Panama,” climbed to a peak position of number 13.
