Two of Willie Nelson‘s songs from the soundtrack to the 1980 film Honeysuckle Rose made appearances on Billboard‘s Hot Country Singles chart, and both songs hit number one. Exactly 40 years ago, the second of that pair of hits, “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground,” climbed to the top of the chart for a one-week reign.
