I’m pleased to announce the release of a book of essays on the meaning and significance of Don McLean’s “American Pie” that I co-edited.  The book, Do You Believe in Rock and Roll: Essays on Don McLean’s “American Pie,” has been published by McFarland Books, and it can be ordered from them by following this link.  The volume features a total of eight essays written by scholars representing a number of fields, and it seeks to offer interpretations of the song’s meanings as well as analysis of the ways that the song has been culturally significant over the past 40 years.  Please check it out.
